License - the first draft

Artwork:
Supplied on a password protected server.
Six cartoons per month so if some are too risqué you can choose which to publish.
Black and white line and wash so no need for a color spot.
Size: Approximately 7 inches wide x 8 inches tall. Is designed to scale nicely to 2 columns (approx 23 picas wide). Will reduce to a minimum of 16 picas on newsprint without suffering.

Formats:
300 dpi jpeg (pc or mac)
300 dpi eps (pc or mac)
300 dpi tiff (pc or mac)
72 dpi jpeg (290 x 300 px) for web use

Scope of License:

License for single usage, no modification rights:
For print and/or online media only: Artist grants to Client the rights in the Final Art as set forth below. Any additional uses not identified herein require an additional license and may require an additional fee. All other rights are expressly reserved by Artist. The rights granted to Client are for the usage of the Final Art in its original form only. Client may not crop, distort, manipulate, reconfigure, mimic, animate, create derivative works or extract portions or in any other manner, alter the Final Art. Category of use: print AND/OR online

Medium of use: newspaper and related
Duration of use: two months from server upload
Geographic territory: United Sates

With respect to such usage, Client shall have Nonexclusive rights

Liquidation for unlicensed use:

Client’s use of the Final Art shall be limited to the usage rights granted herein for the Project only. Use of the Final Art, Deliverables or any derivative works thereof by Client at any other time or location, or for another project or outside the scope of the rights granted herein require an additional fee and Artist shall be entitled to further compensation equal to whichever is greater of one hundred percent (100%) of the original Project fee or twenty percent (20%) royalties of any (including but not limited to) publication, product or item using the Final Art, Deliverables or any derivative works unless otherwise agreed in writing by both parties. In the event of non-payment, Artist shall be entitled to pursue all remedies under law and equity.
